Sicily review/ pics
Hi,
Dh & I went to Sicily for 8 days and we had a great time but it was TOO short a time to go. If you are planning on going to Europe- try to do @ LEAST 10 days.
We started out in Catania which is a pretty big city. We really enjoyed walking around there.
We rented a car the driving is NUTS- worse then here where @ least you have some kind of order. Stop signs and red lights are optional.
Next stop was Taormina - LOVED that place. They town is set high in the mountains. We stayed @ a place called Villa St. Andrea ( awesome) which was located underneath Taormina and was on the water.
To get to Taormina the best way is via cable car which was convienently 1/2 block from our hotel. The ride up is less ten 5 minutes.
From there we drove across Sicly to the west side to Castellamare del Golfo/ Scopella.
I love this area and have some friends there.
It is a fishing village located on the foot of some mountains. There are some really nice beaches in the area.
We enjoyed it very much.
At the end of our trip we left out of Palermo.
If anyone has any?s feel free to FM me.
I love Europe the food, wine, cites but one word of caution the euro.
Keep in mind that it is not a cheap proposition and you lose 30% off the bat on the exchange
rate.
Even with that........it was worth it.
If you check out the pics- please eep in mind I did not blowdry my hair the entire time I was there - its doing what it wants to do :)

You really need to go and check out the town-
The 1st time I went to Sicily we went to the town my family was from and found the dtreets named after my maiden name and cousins last names- it was wild.
