Do you need a passport for Aruba?
I thought I heard that now you did, but am not sure. Also, how long does it take to get one? Thanks!

I pretty sure you do need one now. Call the airline, they will let you know.
I think you can get one in a day if you go to NYC. If not, I believe you can pay extra and have it in 30 days.

When we were going on our cruise, I checked into it and for the Carribean it was supposed to go into effect Jan 1 2006 that you needed it, but they pushed it back to Jan 1 2007.
I think you can even check on the passport website somewhere.

You can still travel to Aruba without a passport...you do need a certified copy of your birth certificate though.

My Dh and I went to Aruba in October and he had a passport and I didnt and it was much easier for him to get through customs than me.
My advice, if you have time, get a passport!!

You are going to have sooo much fun. Aruba is just beautiful...breathtaking.....
You should rent a jeep and tour the whole island.....we did that and it was great.
Thanks! I am very excited to go, I have wanted to for awhile now. We are looking to go for my DH's 30th in May, can't wait!

You are going to love it. They have like Perfect Weather all the time...sunny...no humidity...and the island is beautiful. And there's so much to do if you like and none at all if you don't.....
Where are you staying?
We are going to stay at the Marriott, we have points there through a credit card, so we will get some nights for free which is great!

Yes they will ...until 12/31/06...afte that you need a passport to travel anywhere out of the US.

they changed it
I went to Mexico with my BC and had NO problems
they thought it would hurt the tourism for these countries and they are right- b/c they are not advertsing it and making a big deal
