24 hour urine protein test...has anyone had this done??

At my last 3 doctors appointments, it seems as if I have been having high blood pressure. My doctor is a little concerned, more for the end of my pregnancy so she is having me take this 24 hour urine test. I have to save my urine for 24 hours and then bring it in so that they can test the protein in it. I am really nervous since I dont think this is a very good sign.

Did anyone else have to do this? How did it work out??

I had one at 18 weeksd, because I had 1+ protein in my urine and my blood pressure was up. It came back fine, and told the doctor my kidneys were working fine, I did not have latent hypertention and was not experiencing early pre-eclampsia. to this day, i still spill 1+ protein at each doctor's visit, but now, no one is alarmed.

I have to do the 24 hour urine a couple of times because I am diabetic. It's a bit of a pain but not a big deal. I always get 2 jugs so I have one at home and one at work.

i've had to do them a bunch of times also bc i'm a diabetic. while it isn't the most fun experience, it isn't bad either. just kind of a hassle- as you will most likely want to do it when you're home. i actually did another one just two weeks ago bc they were concerned i might be pre-eclamptic- thankfully all was ok with everything!
