Sleeping Habits

Did anyone have a baby that was not such a good sleeper that turned out to be a good sleeper eventually??
DD is 3 months old and she rarely goes more than 5 hours at a stretch at night and always wakes up super early in the morning... last night she was up at 3:30 for like 2 hours and then went back to sleep for an hour and is now wide awake and doesn't even want to eat. She is also not a good daytime napper, hoping this all changes...

If it makes you feel better, I have a friend whose baby slept through the night regularly at 3 months but now at 14 months is up 4-5 times a night.

Re: Sleeping Habits

my DD was not such a great sleeper until closer to 4 months old. She grew out of her bad gas, still has some, but it's not like it was.

Have you tried tummy sleeping? That was a HUGE difference for us

I haven't tried tummy sleeping although I really want to b/c when she sleeps on my chest for naps, it's the longest and best naps she takes. Maybe I will try tummy for naps, do I turn her head when I put her down?

Re: Sleeping Habits

My DD was a terrible sleeper at first. DH and I couldn't believe it- we both love to sleep. The good news is that now she is a good sleeper and good napper. She sleeps 11 hrs. at night- straight through and takes a 2hr. nap. I really think our luck changed when she became more mobile- she could wear herself out during the day & she could get herself in a better position to sleep. She likes her side or her belly now.
