Updated: Please, please, please, help me find a home for loving kitty - PROBLEM SOLVED!!!

Since I posted last week we brought the kitty into our converted garage at night where she has food and a bed. She is so loving and affectionate, so I decided to bring her to the vet on Saturday to have her checked out. Well, $200 later, I was assured that she is female, healthy, negative for all diseases, approx. 5 years old and spade. Oh, and she is polydactyl (has extra toes) - sooooo cute.

My vet feels strongly that she was abandoned by someone who moved, and I just can't understand how someone could leave such a gorgeous cat behind. We are considering keeping her as an outdoor cat and leave her living in our garage at night, but she really deserves so much better than this. She keeps coming up to our front and back door, looking to come inside. My cats are going wild, howling and hissing every time they see her.

Please, please, please, ask around your friends and family. She is litter trained and she comes with a brand new litter box and feeding bowl

UPDATE: Well, I tried everything yesterday. I put ads on petfinder, yahoo, craigslist, etc., I posted flyers at all the local supermarkets last night and, just on the off-chance, called into all my neighbors on my way home. It turns out that the little lady lives 4 doors down and is an outdoor cat that my neighbor rescued. I was just so relieved to find that she has a home - even if they don't seem to be taking great care of her. I gave her owner the inoculation certificates from the vet and sent her on her merry way.

When I left the house this morning, there she was, sitting on our porch again I feel so stupid that I spent so much money on my neighbors cat, but I'm so happy that I don't have to find her a home - there was absolutely no response to any of the ads I posted and there are so many cats that need to be adopted

Did you search on petfinder.com to see if anyone is missing her? They have a lost pet section.

If I didn't have three of my own already, a 3-legged cat living in my basement looking for a home, plus the little kitten in the hospital that we are trying to save, I would take her in a heartbeat.

God, I need to have kids already!!!!!

What a cute cat! I wish I could take her but we have 2 dogs. You can try posting on petfinder or contacting one of the cat adoption agencies. Good luck, it sounds like she is such a sweetie.
