What is the difference between an agent and a broker and what exactly does a title closer do?

Re: Real Estate Professionals
gent works under a broker. A broker has more schooling. Anyone can be a broker if you want to pay for the continuing education and spend the time in the classes. A lot of people prefer to be an agent and have someone else take care of all the expenses while they make the money. A title closer is a representative of the title company. Title insurance is one of the only kind of insurance that protects you from a past event rather than a future one. Lets say you buy your house from Mr. Smith. He was joint tenants with Mrs. Smith who left him ten years ago. He forged the deed to get her name off of it and you buy the house. Your title insurance company protects you against this happening and if it does gets rid of that pesky Mrs. Smith for you. The closer basically makes sure everything is in place for the title company-proper signatures and notarizations, confirms your identity, some pay off the sellers old mortgage sometimes the title company does it. But thats basically it.
