Newbie needs advice (LONG)

I only recently posted and need advice desperatley because I feel as if I am gonna lose it.
Since Dec. we have been trying but not too hard since I have a very irregular cylce (some months I skip other months I am on a 28 day cycle) Anyway last month I discussed with doctor we really needed to get moving on regulating me (Provera (i think that was it) in the past has not worked for longer then a month or 2). Anyway, he put me on Clomid, he watched me regularly, follies grew, he told me when to start BDing, told me to get an ovulation test kit. I never ovulated according to the kit. I just went to him tonight and I made him take a blood test to see what my progestrone levels were as well as my LH and FSH levels were since I have been doing some research. He has mentioned PCOS but my recent bloodwork and u/s does not show that. He has also mentioned higher levels of testerone. Anyway, I feel as if he has no idea and is very nonchalant about everything. If i hadnt pushed for the blood tonight I dont think he would have done it and would have just done andother clomid cycle. Am I doing the right things? Should I seek RE help? @nd opinion? I am reading the Fertility Cure about Western medicine. What do I do for answers that I dont seem to be getting? Sorry so long but I dont want to waste precious time and energy. Help, I feel lost.

My first question to you is what recent blood work did he do to rule out pcos. If your testosterone is elevated that could be an indication of pcos.

The fsh, LH, and estradoil blood test should be done on day 3. If your LH and your FSH are not approximately at a 1:1 ratio on day 3...LH being higher....that is another indication of possible pcos.

Many women with pcos grow follies, follies that mature but they don't produce enough LH to have them ovulate. Therefore, having to have a hcg trigger shot...which causes the follicule(s) to rupture.

I would also make sure my fasting insulin level was checked...which is something also associated with pcos.

It's great that you had the progesterone test done, because that will indicate whether or not you ovulated.

If you are not comfortable with your current doctor and what he is doing or not doing for you, I highly suggest finding a different doctor. Honestly, I don't think patients should be the ones guiding the doctors...and when it turns out to be the case, it's time to find a doctor who specializes in your exact issue.

You need a new doctor..one that you feel confident in. Have you ever tried charting? You would know if you ovulated by charting.
You might not need an RE yet, but you should look for a new OB.

It may be too early in a regular cycling woman to see an RE, but if you have irregular cycles, I would suggest seeing an RE if your ins covers it. They'll most likely be able to get you a full 'true' picture of your situation

Thank you for your advice I think I will search for a new obgyn and possible RE. Any rec.?
