So what is the deal with gas prices today?
One station is $2.81 and not three miles away another station is $2.46 !!!

I know.....Its so cheap by where we are on the South Shore...my mother is more North and its atleast 20cents more

I know, I am on the north shore and don't get it  I always fill up when I am south of Sunrise visiting my parents!

the cheapest I have seen lately was an Exxon station in Bohemia for $2.73

I paid $2.69 for silver or the middle grade
but some gas stations were still $3.20
it makes no sense
but I save about $10!!!!

We were in PA last weekend and got Turkey Hill gas for $2.59... An entire tank got us all the way home in a pick up truck. It is strange how we went to PA we had to fill up twice. Kind of makes you think if the gas in NY is a bit watered down???

Yeah, We noticed that in Westchester too. One place was $3.34 & also only about 3 miles away (same town), we saw $2.76.

We were also talking about this today -- about how I can't remember a gas price gap like this before. Some places are $3.05 and others are $2.71 which is the cheapest I've seen it over the last few days.

why would it be illegal? prices aren't set by 1 person
each company and owner can charge what ever they want
the gas station I went to was the cheapest and it was packed- capitalism at it's finest- and thank g-d for that!

Because the "legislators" were talking about putting a stop to price gouging recently and a .$50 difference in gas prices would seem to be gouging to me.
Not that I care really, I am very aware of gas prices and shop around before I buy each week. And, I agree, the cheapest stations are always packed!

I don't think they have to adjust the prices until there is a delivery. Gas stations that are not as busy may have highter gas prices because they have not had a delivery yet.
