Mexico anyone??
Anyone been to Mexico, DH and I are thinking of going next year. We are interested in a quiet beach setting, we aren't into Cancun anyone have any suggestions on where to go?

you can go to Riviera Maya/Playa del Carmen area, you still land in Cancun but you drive south about 30-45 min. depending which hotel you stay at... the area is much more relaxing and quiet than Cancun... you would also be closer to attractions such as Tulum, Coba, Chichen Itza, Xcaret...

Thanks, I was thinking Playa Del Carmen but I wasn't sure if it was touristy. I am not really into that. We really just want to relax.

We went to the Riviera Maya on our HM. We stayed at Royal Hideaway and LOVED it! If you search on liweddings under my name for it, you'll see some long reviews I wrote.
We're actually planning a trip with three other couples right now to Mexico but want to spend less than the Royal Hideaway. We're looking at Riviera Maya and Puerto Vallarta.

Def the Riviera Maya..
I personally like cancun and the touristy places .. but Riviera Maya was not like that.
It was pretty quiet and very beautiful.
Look at some of the properties on Tripadvisor.com and check it out..

If you want a nice quiet beach area, try zihuatanejo- it's 150 miles North of Acapulco- DH and I went for our HM in February (their busy season) and it was amazing and didn't have the crowds of Cancun.
It is also VERY affordable (we stayed in a suite for $199 a night)!!!

Quiet def go to Playacar, next town over from playa del carmen. you land in cancun and its about an hour drive AND if you want to go to Cozumel for the day you are only around the block walk or 5 dollar cab fair and you take the ferry over, they run all day, thats what DH and I do. I have timeshare there at the Wyndham Viva Azteca and Maya Resorts they are sister resorts, if you want quiet and beutiful exotic stay at the Azteca if you want big loud tropical party atmosphere stay at the Maya- but remember sister resorts you can go to both but we def opted for the Azteca. You will love it! all inclusive too!
