Toe nails problems & running

I know nasty topic, but I wondered if anyone had their nails break from the pressure of the running. I do when I don't cut them short enough.

Your shoes are too small. This used to happen to me all the time. I finally went to a "running store" and I ended up buying a size bigger then what I had been running in. My everyday shoes are a size 6 and my running shoes are a 7.

They say it has to do with swelling but since I went up a size I have not had one black toe nail!!

honestly...(thinking)....I don't think it's it. they don't turn black of anything, it's just if I don't keep them short, the big toe, when I run, I press them up (lifting my tow off the sole) I wondered if I am the only weirdo who runs like that
