Swollen feet/ankles...

Does anyone have any remedies for this besides elevating them? I've noticed that my feet have gotten really swollen the last two days while I'm at work.

Marcie, we're on the same wavelength, because we're due around the same time... Chat Icon

Definitely update me on what your doc says... I don't have an appt until a week from tonight.

Re: Swollen feet/ankles...

I have had this and the only remedy seems to be to keep your feet elevated (above your heart) and drink lots of water so you pee more fluid out.

Re: Swollen feet/ankles...

Stay off them. Unfortunatley that's pretty much it. Some people say cut down on salt - that doesn't help me at all. Staying off them is the only thing that keeps the swelling down.

Re: Swollen feet/ankles...

I am a teacher and was due on october 9th so i went back to work after having the summer off in september just fora few weeks. my feet got SO swollen SO fast after not being swollen fr the entire pregnancy.

i hate to say it but nothing worked until the baby was born. they were back to normal within days of her birth!

Re: Swollen feet/ankles...

I know that it's normal for this to happen, I guess I thought I wouldn't be affected, since I hadn't been until now (33wks).

Regardless, I have my feet elevated (on the garbage can), but unfortunately not above heart level. I just filled my 32oz bottle with water, and am hoping to drink two before I leave here today. And I will not have any salt on my lunch today (even if I love it!).

Thanks for the info ladies! Chat Icon

Oops - yes I did.
She said that she knows that I am eating enough and drinking enough - she believes it is just from it getting warmer out.
She didn't seem concerned.
I am going back again this Wed. I am going to ask again.

Last week I saw one of the other doctors, and he didn't have much to say about the swollen feet, other than that it's normal... if anything, he made sure to mention for me to keep on eye on my weight gain, rather than give me remedies for swollen feet! Chat Icon
