Medicare related question - can anyone help?
My FIL has rheumatoid arthritis and his doctor gave him a prescription for one of those electric lift recliner chairs.
He got it and submitted the claim to Medicare and they denied it, saying there was no proof he needed it.
He totally needs it, the man can hardly walk bc the rheumatoid arthritis is SO bad.
Does anyone know how we can appeal their decision?

Yep...If you email me at work tommorow I can get you the address who to send it to as well.
You need a letter of medical neccesity from the Dr.
I'm about 80% sure you will win the appeal.
They deny a LOT of whats DME (durable medical equipment) on the first pass and almost all of them get overturned ....most of the time its because the Dr didnt supply enough info in the first place, so once they get it, it can be re-reviewed.
Dont worry
