what is everyones favorite formula??
My baby girl is a week and a 1/2 and we have been giving her the similac lik ein the hospital.. she does spit up but i think its from not burping enough..
Do you think i should switch or just stick w/ what we are using??
Does anyone have a favorie that helped reduce the spitting up??

is she having gas also? Alyson had gas issues on the Enfamil with Iron so my dad and I decided to pick up Enfamil Prosobee (soy formula) and we noticed a difference within a few days.
If you do switch, it takes a few days for their systems to adjust.

My daughter is on Enfamil Gentlease it kinda helps with her gas.
How often are you burping her?

we burp her after a little bit of her bottle.. after a couple of ounces...
she is very gassy and doesn't really poop that much..
makes me nervous..

pooping can be 3 times a day to once every 3 days...don't be nervous. Formula babies tend to have more well formed poops too.....I give Alyson water here and there to help with that.
If she seems to be gassy more often than not and seems to be in pain from it....you might want to switch.
According to Enfamil, you can go to Gentlease which is still milk based, but some of the proteins are already broken down making it easier to digest.
BUT if she has a sensitivity to milk itself, that will still make her gassy and Soy would be your next option. I went straight to soy based because DH is lactose intolerant and I have a mild case of IBS.

I loved the goodstart, but we switched her to similac lactose free.
She is doing better on it, but I think it is gross.

Shana - I have IBS AND lactose intolerance. I wanted to go to soy but my pedi said that it would cause constipation. Do you see that w/ Aly?

Sara is on Isomil Advanced. She is not gassy but spits up at every feeding - docv said that is ok

thanks ladies.. the spitting up makes me so nervous.. I know its normal but so sad and scary.. i wish they could tell us whats wrong...

The girls are on Good Start & the love it. I was using Similac powder & it was way to bubbly for them.

Christopher had horrible gas issues. We went from Enfamil Lipil to Prosobee to Gentlease. The Gentlease made a world of difference for us.

I used the Costco Version of Enfamil/Similac with Iron. It was a powder. I would make it with room temp. water, shake it up and add one tiny drop of Mylicon...all the bubbles would disappear.

We're using Similac Advance w/ Iron too...she likes it so far. I hear Enfamil Lipil w/ Iron is good too.

I'm lactose intolerant as well and we started Alex on Similac Enfamil Soy, and she seems to handle it very, very well... in fact, her gassiness decreased significantly from BM to the Similac

Both of mine are on the Bright Beginnings Formula now. Hailey gets the regular and Zachary gets the soy.

We started with Similac Advance-she had a bad reaction to it so we put her on Isomil until one and she had no problems weaning to whole milk.

I had BIG problems with Mallory, she decided she didn't want to BF anymore, but she didn't like formula and my supply dried up so we went through every formula and the only one she would take was Good Start!

Nate had big spit up problems with Enfamil w/iron. Then we switched to Enfamil AR, still no help. So the doctor suggested Similac Advance and it got better but we finally settled on Similac Isomil Advance Soy formula. It has been great since we started using it. He's 9.5 months and still doing well on it.

Nutramigen by Enfamil.
We started out on Similac w/Iron from the hospital, then went to Prosobee by Enfamil - Emma didn't do well on either so the dr. switched her to Nutramigen.
