Were the old wives tales true about the gender of your baby?
DH and I are not finding out the sex, but it's so funny how people are so ADAMANT in their opinion about what we are having. Such as -
If you are having a girl, your face will totally distort, your butt will grow, you will crave sweets, and you will have morning sickness
If you are having a boy, you look and feel great, you carry low, you crave salt, and you get many body cramps
Were any of these true for you mommies?

Re: Were the old wives tales true about the gender of your baby?
I've had 3 kids and my first (boy) and second (girl) were definitely true in the sense of the OWT's holding some merit. With my son, I never had any MS, felt beautiful-my skin and hair never looked so good and people would always comment about being pg "agreeing with me". With my daughter, I was sick as a dog, my skin looked like sh*t and I definitely craved sweets. Cant recall the OJ thing. With #3 (boy) he broke all the rules, I had MS (although not as bad as with my daughter) and had really no cravings to speak of. I felt neither great nor totally horrid.

I had more morning sickness with Maddie than with Joe.
Otherwise, no. I looked better when I was pregnant with her versus him.

I "Carried like a girl" with my DS and had horrible MS with him.
The ones I always here are your nose gets wider with a girl and your butt gets flat.. with a boy you have more of a bubble butt

Re: Were the old wives tales true about the gender of your baby?
Nope - pretty much all the wives tales said girl for me and I had a boy. I actually took an online test of all wives tales and it said 85% chance of a girl!!
I grew all over but once my belly pooped it wasn't as noticable. But my butt an dhips and thighs grew fast!!! My face didn't change that much though. I had ms throughout my entire pregnancy. I craved fruit and skittles (sweet).

Re: Were the old wives tales true about the gender of your baby?
I had a
I did crave sweets, I was never a sweet person, more of a salty girl.
I carried very low the entire pg.
Most of my weight went to my hips and butt. But I truly think if I ever have a boy I'll carry the same way. I have always been a pair shape, any weight I have ever gained goes to my hips and butt.
I had morning sickness that lasted until about 14 weeks, but I NEVER threw up, it was pure, intense nausea.
My face did not distort, but since I gained 50lbs, it changed a little, it got pudgy.
As for body cramps, I think any preggo at a certain point in their preg, will have many body cramps.

Re: Were the old wives tales true about the gender of your baby?
I had a girl, but everybody, and I mean everybody, thought I was having a boy because I carried on the small side (I didn't look pregnant until well past my 30th week.)
I never had morning sickness nor was I overly tired.
My face didn't change until the last month when I started to retain water.
I did have cravings: -one month it was chocolate cake and milk -another month was deli sandwiches -hot dogs throughout my entire pregnancy -Slurpees for the last month
