Safety 1st baby TV Monitor...may be recalled
I remember there being a post about it either on this board or on the parenting board. Most of you had good things to say about it and after reading the posts I added it to my registry but I have taken it off again. My SIL e-mailed me yesterday that she read an article about this monitor in Metro, it's a free newspaper that they hand out to you in the morning when I take the subway, anyways it said that Safety 1st is thinking about recalling them because of the complaints they've been getting from people that have to keep returning them.

We're returning ours. Its HORRIBLE!!! The Summer brand is so much better. We borrowed a friends and we are going to buy our own.

I originally had it on my list and then took it off when I heard that people ended up returning it. Then I put it back on after reading the good responses from the post on the boards but now after hearing this I took it off again. My invites are out and I removed the monitor last night so I hope noone has bought it already. If I do end up getting it at my shower I'll return it.

Too many people are complaining and returning saying that they stop work after a short time. One of DH's friends said she had to return it after 1 month and that she always had to bang on the tv monitor to get it to work.

my sound stopped working shortly after we got it. I had a seperate sound monitor so it didnt matter too much for us

I have to say, I have seen this monitor at my SIL's (Bella123) and I have seen what the picture looks like when you are watching your baby, I have an older model and my older model comes in so much clearer than the newer model. I was always so surprised how the quality of the picture on th enew model was so poor, mine comes in so claer, like a B&W tv but crystal clear
