Short Luteal Phase
Last month I had an LP of 9 days (I o'd on cd19). That was my second cycle after both coming of bcp and having a miscarriage ( I got pregnant while on BCP). This month it seems I have ovulated on cd 13. Does anyone know if either coming of bcp or a m/c can cause a short LP that later corrects itself.
I ask because I told my Dr. last month he suggested an endometrial biopsy at then end of this month. Should I do it anyway? Are there any risks?
I almost rather just know than risk another m/c...any info would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Re: Short Luteal Phase
Firstly, I am very sorry for your loss The miscarriage definitely could have made you ovulate later than you normally would. Bcps also can alter your cycles.
However, having an endometrial biopsy is a good idea. If you don't want to do go that route, you can have a 7 dpo progesterone blood test. The biopsy basically reveals the same thing the progesterone test does. It allows the doctor to see, if your body is producing enough progesterone to sustain a pregnancy. It's also important to see how thick your uterine lining is around O time.

Re: Short Luteal Phase
Redstar, thanks for your answer. Yes my doctor suggested a blood test but he said he felt the biopsy was more accurate. I was actually pretty surprised at how proactive my dr. was (maybe because his wife is an RE), but he was not willing to waste any time or take any chances in having another m/c - which s great. So I guess I'l probably go through it.
Thanks again
