short/thinning cervix....long(updated)
where to start....at my 20 week sono they checked my cervical length and it was 3.0, I went back to have it rechecked at 27 weeks and it was down to 2.0, so they sent me to labor and delivery to make sure I wasn't having any contractions, I'm not thank god, but I'm still here in the hospital, my dh brought the laptop here since I was losing my mind!! So now I've been here for 4 days and I'm waiting for them to give me a FFN test to see if there is a chance of me going into labor in the next two weeks, my doc says if the test comes back ok I can go home on bedrest, UHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! They gave me steroids already just incase the little one decides to show up, he is pressing his head against my cervix they said they could feel his head when they did an internal. I just want him to stay in there a bit longer!!! Does anyone else have this problem????? What was everyones experiences with it????
UPDATE: Well my FFN test came back positive so I have to stay in the hospital until further notice. I am at high risk of delivering the baby at any time. As much as I want to meet him, I just want him to stay in there long enough to be well developed. I'm only 28weeks This stinks

I've been on bedrest since 10/19 with a short cervix 2.0 cm feel free to email any questions you like. I KNOW exactly how freakin SCARED you are!!!!!!!!
I was not contracting. I also had the same problem with my son Andrew, but it was discovered at 30 weeks he was born at 35 weeks completely healthy. I am currently 36.2 weeks with this pregnancy.

DH is so awesome!! Since I'm stuck here in the hospital for Valentines day he brought me a complete steak dinner from Ruth's Chris with all the trimmings, roses, candy and a beautiful necklace!!! It was the most thoughtful romantic Valentines I've ever had!!!

Oh I'm so sorry you have to stay there! But on the other hand, it really is a good thing that they caught this and are able to help you. I know it must be so hard staying in bed but that little baby needs to stay in a little longer.
You and I have the same due date (May 8th) so I know it seems sooo far off. But, it's the best thing to stay where you are and get the care you need and keep the baby in there for as long as you can.
At least you have your laptop now and Internet access! That should help pass the time. Hang in there, in a few more weeks it will be OK for the baby to come out

At my 20 week sono my cervix was 1 1/4 I have an incomptent cervix, and I had to go in for emergency surgery to get a cerclage then I was put on bedrest from 20 weeks until 36 weeks, I just want to send you lots of hugs and you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers!

Hang in there I can't imagine what you are going through right now Have faith that your little boy will be just fine, the hospital is the best place for you, for them to try to keep that baby cooking and get those lungs ready for birth.
