Yes, only because if he wasn't, it would be so much simpler to say "no I'm not" and then have a more interesting interview as to how it FEELS to be thought gay when you're not.
Which brings me to, can you imagine how it must feel for a man who ISN'T gay to be constantly asked if he IS gay? Or how it feels for anyone for that matter. Being gay is so much more accepted now (it's almost fashionable to be gay nowadays) that people are like HOW DARE YOU NOT COME OUT, CLAY. I think it is extremely rude. Your private life is your private life, homo or hetero.

Here is my theory..(Yes, I have a theory! LOL)
Clay is definately gay. The thing is he is also a Baptist from the south. So, sadly I don't think he will ever admit it. He will be shunned by alot of his church family. Lance Bass got a lot of flack by the Bapstist community. Why they think that the God that made them gay will later damn them for it is beyond me. (but, that's religion & I don't discuss that) So Clay will go with the whole never admit nor deny attitude.
It has worked with my boy Barry Manillow for years!
