X-post- Car seats: One in each car or just in your?
Does anyone here have a car seat in each car or just in yours? What about grandparents? Anyone's parents get a car seat for when they watch the baby?

we have one in each of our cars...because I drop her off in daycare and DH picks her up...when it was an infant seat, we just had two bases for the one seat...
when people watch her we give them the seat...

we just have one in my car. whenever we go out as a family we always take my car anyway so we don't need 2.

We have an infant carrier base in each car. When she grows out we will have a carseat for each car.
For the grandparents or people that watch her, it would be totally up to them. I know my parents plan on purchasing a car seat.

same here. DH has a station car and I really don't want my DD to go in his car because it is old and has lots of quirks. Plus it is a total mess!

I think it depends on if you plan on going back to work or not.
We have 2 car seats because DH drops DD off in the morning, and I pick her up in the evening.

Same here. It makes life so much easier and I wouldn't feel comfortable switching seats from car to car all the time just for safety reasons.

We have one for each car and bought one for grandma too because she watches DS. It would take too much time to make sure the seat is properly installed every time you move it. Not to mention our seats were NOT easy to install.

I have 1 carseat for each child. Im very good at installing them so its quite easy to move them if need be. ETA: No one else watches any of my kids on a regular basis. If they did, I'd definitely consider another carseat for that persons car, especially if its just one child.
