1 diet soda a day???
I know I shouldn't have caffeine during the 1st trimester, but I can't do it 
I've cut back to 1 diet dr pepper...do you think that's ok?
I'm just worried

We're not supposed to have artificial sweeteners so I'd say if you have to have a soda you might be better off with regular than diet.

I think one is OK, you could check with your doctor. There really isnt all that much caffine in one soda. If i have coffee (2-3 times a week when Im not too sick) I have 1 sweet n low in it...but Im trying to swtch back to sugar.

You can have splenda and I think diet rite may be made with splenda, I can't give up my coffee I just don't have it everyday...

I'm a former diet coke addict- but I gave it up. I could have caffeine free, but I am also worried about the artificial sweetners. They are just so bad for you (in general) and I worry they may hurt the baby- Splenda too- there are webpages designed to inform you of how bad they are. I don't care when its me, but with the baby, I am being extra precautious.
ETA: IMO- better to be safe than sorry. Chances are, its totally fine.

I agree...
I was big into diet soda when I got pregnant... and was so worried the DR was gonna tell me to stop...but he said it was fine as long as I wasnt drinking liter upon liter a day...
My diet sodaobssesion turned into a coke obsession I drank a can with lunch and dinner almost everyday...and my son was born perfectly healthy!!!

i drank diet coke with lime at least 3-4 times a week during my pg and everything was fine. I also used Equal in my cereal and coffee.
It's all about moderation and personal choice.
