What are your responsibilities at work?? What is a typical day like for you?

I enjoyed reading what everyone does for a living with the best and worst about my job....I was interested to see what everyone does on a typical day :)

I guess I will start...

3rd Grade Teacher...

Teach reading, writing , math, constantly disciplining children in my class...23 kids in an inner city school

I also correct HW, do paper work and things like that on my prep and lunch breaks

we also have extended day where I do reading/literacy games in the afternoon with the students who are required to stay

well... i'm a speech teacher at a school, so my responsibilities and day are a lot like yours. i see kids in groups of 2 or 3 for a half hour at a time... i have about 40 kids altogether that i see ( not all every day though). so my day consists of working with them on pronouncing different sounds better when they are speaking,as well as some of the kids i work on language difficulties with ( spelling, reading comprehension, sentence formation)...
in a way, i don't have the outside paper grading and stuff that "Regular" teachers do... and i don't have as much planning, BUT the planning is harder becasue each kid/group is working on something different and at a different level, so i have to constantly come up with different activities to fit each group... rather than follow one plan for the day with the whole class... the paperwork is also rediculus, and i'm constantly having to send stuff to parents to sign or set up meetings for them to come in and sign things and make updates to their childs IEP...

I work for Washington Mutual. I do Home Equities. Credit Cards. Set up accounts including business accounts checking savings kids accounts cd.
