my dh is going to "kill" me and my silly ideas......
I have been the "cautious, lets wait and see" person with this pregnancy and have made us wait to tell anyone....we just hit 12 weeks last tuesday but dh's dad is away so we will tell his dad and my parents the weekend of the 18th if all goes as planned.....so last week his one friend tells him they are having a baby in October (to which dh silently replied in his head - "oh how nice, the month after our baby is born!") and today we sat quitely smiling as another friend of ours shared she is due in November (dh: "oh how nice, two months after ours is born!") Why do I keep putting it off now? What am I afraid of and how do I really just say it??????
Do you think people will be mad at us for "waiting too long" either??

No, not at all. I dont think they will be mad, or they shouldnt. I can understand, you wanted to make sure everything was ok. They should respect your choice.

I agree. ANYONE who has been pregnant or who has had a pregnant wife will understand.

You should tell when you are ready and not before...people will just have to understand.
We didn't tell our friends until I was 16 wks, we just wanted to make sure everything was fine.

We were in a similar situation. We were waiting to tell our parents. Our good friends asked us out to dinner & said "We aren't telling anyone yet but we trust you not to say anything - we're due in November!" I was due 2 weeks before - so I looked at DH & said "Ok tell them." We all looked at him & he said "Congratulations." followed by complete silence - then I told them.
It certainly makes it more real once you've announced.
eta. no one should be mad at you for waiting. it's your decision alone to share.

My sisters friend waited all 3 times after the 4th month to tell anyone! They wanted to enjoy their joy in private and to make sure all was ok.
