cereal/fruit feeding moms of 3-4 mo olds

How much do you give? Joseph gets 1.5 tblspns of frui in the AM - 2.5tblspns of cereal/1.5tblspns fruit & 1.5oz of BM for lunch & dinner. I just wanted to see if that's too much, too little or just right. He'd eat more if I offered it to him.

Antonio eats about 10 baby spoons of cereal in morning and the same at pm. (i dilute 4-5 tbspns formula with 1-2 tbspns cereal)

Then I give him a veg for lunch. 1/2 a 2.5 jar. My pedsaid to strt with veg so he doesn't prefer sweet only. The SQUASH went great. The GREEN PEAS (yesterday) was a nightmare. I guess it did not agree with him because he screamed for 1 hour at night and I had to hold him for about 3 hours last night. Now I am scared to try anything else new. Can he live on only squash?

oh and he still has a 4 oz bottle every 3-4 hrs (even at night)

I really wonder how much he is eating though because most of it is on his face!

As long as you aren't replacing his milk with solids, there's no harm in giving more food. Gabriella always ate more than the recommended serving was and still does. Some kids just need more and others need less.

I only give him 1 1/2 TBSPN of cereal at night (and not even every night).

When we went for our 4 month apt 2 weeks ago, the Dr said to hold off on cereal until 5 months and fruits and veggies until 6 months . I told him I already started the cereal sometimes to get him used to it and he said it was fine.....to do it more steadily at 5 months. He's actually getting pretty good at it. At first he would spit it out all over but now he knows what to do and actually eats it .

Hayley goes for her 4 month appointment in 2 weeks. I think I am going to start her on cereal soon because she is drinking too much milk. I can't wait til she eats fruits & vegies!
