Thank you note to a principal...teachers help please..

When I write a ty note to him, should I type it and on nice paper? does it have to be really long??

I was just going to hand write a few lines in a note card..do you think this is ok?

Also, any suggestions on what to write?

Depends what the ty is for - did you go to an interview? did he go out of his way to help you? etc...

Definitely type the letter - keep it formal. It doesn't have to be long - just a "pleasure to meet you - what a wonderful school/district it is - looking forward to hearing from you" letter

ETA: I'm conducting teacher interviews this coming week and it is always nice to receive a follow-up thank you, but you have to make sure it's not too "gushy".

I agree it should be typed - also make sure to reference why you are interested in the job - what about the school that you learned in the interview makes you even more interested in the position. Let him know that you are also available to answer any further questions/provide any other necessary information.
