Washer and dryer question

My DH and I looked at a house yesterday that we really liked but the washer is in the kitchen and the dryer is in another room. Does anyone know about how much it would cost to move the washer to another room, I know that they might have to run water pipes. Also does a dryer need a vent? Or could we put a stackable in the kitchen where the washer is? I just need to get ideas of what could be done. Also I once saw a washer and dryer front loading that were stacked but looked online and couldnt find them. Has anyone seen these? Or do you think they just figured out a way to mount them or something? TIA

My washer is in the kitchen and my dryer is in the garage (not attached). Moving the washer into another room should only cost the price of a plumber to run a water line.

I am currently looking for a stackable front loading washer/dryer and so far found them at PC Richards and Sears.

Let me know if you find them anywhere else.

there are a few dryers that are ventless but they still require the higher voltage - most are stackables - because condos don't always have vents

bosch axxis, thor Apex, Asko has a few ventless dryer

still not sure if they work as well as vent dryers but are supposed to be better for clothing

our new condo will have the asko ventless dryer

We have a stackable washer/dryer in the kitchen. They had to run this funky vent thing under our sink and outside and every once in a while dh has to double check to make sure it is still attached. Not such a big deal and much cheaper than repiping.

About how much would repiping cost. I dont need an exact number because I know for everyone its different but just an estimate.

Initially the washer and dryer were in the kitchen and we had moved it into a closet by the back door. The plumber had to run the pipes for water and gas to that side of the house. To just move the water pipes he charged about 900. As for gas, I cant really tell, because I had propane before and converted the stove to gas with also running the gas pipe to the dryer as well. It was a lump sum. . And when they installed it all, they also put in a dryer vent. Also we had gotten stackable washer and dryer too.

I was also thinking - maybe there is water on the outside of the house - for sprinklers and hoses - in which case they may be able to run it that way!

I was thinking the same exact thing, because if that is the case, then it will cost virtually nothing to run the pipe. We will see. I def wouldnt let a washer and dryer placement sway my decision on a house though.

I am already moving appliances and havent even made an offer yet

I is a lot cheaper to move the dryer to the washer's location than it is to move the washer to another location. You need a plumber for this. Is the basement finished? Where do the pipes run right now? That's going to determine the ease of the job.

There is no basement and the washer is right there when you walk into the kitchen which is why i want to move it.
