I received a spoof email from 'pay pal'!
It said I added a new email to my pay pal account. I haven't used this account in so long. I called pay pal and they said it was fake email and I forwarded it to them. I cancelled my pay pal account since I never use it anyway. Very nerve-racking though!

I get them a lot...if it's not addressed to you by first & last name it's spam.

There are a lot of these "phish" emails going around now. I get them from "banks" I have no account with and paypal and Ebay all the time. I always go to the company website and find out how to report them.

I learned this today and they didn't use my name. I didn't know that before I called though.

I recieved a similar email a few weeks ago. It said it was from paypal and that there was an unauthorized transaction in my account and i should click on their link. I did click to see what it was and then a computer message came up saying the site had a problem. So I called paypal and found out the email was not from them and my account was fine. I also had one once that looked like it came from WAMU.

I learned this when I forwarded suspect email to them.
The bank ones freak me out though. I kept getting emails from Washington Mutual and Bank of America even though I don't have any type of account with either of them.
