So...my doctor's appointment was today....
I am 7w5d today...I went to the doctor for another u/s (still seeing my RE at this point). This time he confirmed that there are 2...twins. Although, one is much larger than the other. Both had heartbeats that we were able to hear. Baby A was in the normal range at 144. Baby B was a smidge under at 138. He said anything between 140-160 is normal at this point.
So...he said to come back in 2 weeks. He said if baby b is going to catch up, it will most likely happen around 10 weeks...or it might just stop growing and get absorbed and disappear, which he said happens too. So...I'm a little freaked out about the possibility of twins...but trying to be cautiously optimistic.
So...another 2 weeks of waiting

Are twins supposed to have higher heartrates? Because normal is between 120-180. Anything under 100 is dangerous, and carries a much higher likelihood of miscarraige. That's from the research I did.

congrats on the twins.
The same thing happened to me. baby B's heartbeat was smaller and was grwoing at a slower rate.
By 8 weeks, it caught up and was only measuring 2 days behind.
I know what you mean it is very overwhelming the thought of twins, but you are blessed to have them

Congratulations! Another twin mommy! I freaked out at first too, but everythign will be ok. I had the same issue, one baby is measuring 4 days smaller than the other one. The doctor was concerned, at the last visit it was still growing at the same rate as bigger baby (although they are still 4 days apart), so the dr. thought that was good. Best of luck to you and welcome to the twin mommy club!

I don't know if what you doctor said is totally true....I am carrying twins as well and both babies heartbeats were 137 at my 7 week appointemnt and my doctor said that was in the perfect range. I went back at 9 weeks and the hearts were beating away again...but he didn't take a number. I think the under 100 number is more the dangerous type...so try not to sweat anything and enjoy it. It's overwhelming at first but such a BLESSING!

I don't know if what you doctor said is totally true....I am carrying twins as well and both babies heartbeats were 137 at my 7 week appointemnt and my doctor said that was in the perfect range. I went back at 9 weeks and the hearts were beating away again...but he didn't take a number. I think the under 100 number is more the dangerous type...so try not to sweat anything and enjoy it. It's overwhelming at first but such a BLESSING!
I don't think he was so much concerned with the heartrate....he was mostly concerned because baby b is so much smaller than baby a...although they both grew from my last appointment, baby a seems to be growing a lot faster and bigger than baby b.
Anyway...there is nothing I can do to help it grow, or prevent it from growing, so all I can do is wait and see. I'll keep everyone posted!

My SIL is having twins in July and in the begining baby A was bigger than baby b too. She is now in her 20th week and the babies are very close in size and she was told it was normal for one to be a bit tinier than the other.
Congrats on getting to see your babies!
