Spin Off: Mothers Day
Should I buy a gift/card for my boyfriends mom..she is not my mother nor my MIL..but I would like to get or do a little something for her... Her bday is the following week so I kno I will see her for that but not positive if we will see her for Mothers Day..

As a rule of thumb, I generally don't start buying gifts or cards for people unless it is a tradition I am planning to continue every year. I think it would be odd to get her a gift or card for Mother's day if you are not planning on doing it for her B-day and the other "big" holidays. JMO.

When I was seriously dating DH I bought my MIL a card and a little something. I say go for it, it's a nice gesture.

I probably wouldn't. If you and your BF see her on Mother's day, I'd wish her a happy one, but I'd save the card and gift if you're planning on it, for her b-day. It would seem a little weird to me I think.

I sent my FMIL flowers before we were married and we continue to do it every year.
She loves flowers.
On the other hand, my mom loves chocolate so we started that ritual before we were married as well.
