1/2 bath in basement..need permit..know NJ plumber?
Hi, Well we have done all the renovations on our home ourselves and have finally hit something I do not want to deal with...the basement bathroom!!! We are having guests coming to stay with us for a month and although we have a toilet (literally just a toilet) in the basement I would like to add a shower and try to finish it a little. Not sure how to go about this...honestly we did not apply for permits for any other renovations in the house since we did them ourselves but I feel like for the bathroom we should get one? My husband of course wants to tackle this himself.
Any thoughts..anyone done this themselves...should we get a permit for resale purposes late...any Recommendations for a plumber in Northern NJ??
Thanks!

While I can't recommned a plumber for you, I would suggest talking to your neighbors. They may be able to recommend someone they used. Then you can speak to that person about needing permits. At any rate, I'm not so sure I would tackle this one without a professional. Plumbing seems like a big deal to me and not something you want to mess up. Leaking can lead to major problems down the road and you wouldn't want to have to rip out everything you did to replace it.
Sorry, I know that wasn't much help!
