I just wanted to Thank...
...all of you for your wishes and prayers.
We had a rough week with my brother, but he's okay now. He had to have open heart surgery and they had to replace his ascending aorta(about 4" worth), then he started bleeding from his heart muscle so they had to go back in and close up the hole where he was bleeding. He was in surgery for a total of 12 hours and was kept on a respirator and unconscious for 24 hours. He woke up last Sunday and has been our "Miracle Man" ever since. His recovery has been amazing...I am so impressed and proud of him.
It also helps that he is in shape and doesn't smoke ( a warning for all of us who don't take the best care of ourselves, myself included)
As far as the Marfan's syndrome, he still will need to be very tightly monitored. His aorta could dilate in other spots at any time. He also needs to have eye surgery as his lenses are displaced. But, for now, he is doing well and we can worry about the next steps as they come.
I mostly wanted to come on here and thank everyone for all their support. I have never posted a prayers needed before and was overwhelmed by the number of responses. It made me feel a little better knowing that others were praying for him.
So thank you all...I think you guys did a wonderful job and helped my little brother pull through.

Oh my Gosh, what a week your poor family has had.
I am so glad he is doing better. It is amazing how far we've come with modern medicine.
