I hate New York City Parking Tickets (sorry so long..vent)
I live in Queens and last month I accidently parked in at a bus stop  and my car got towed. We went and picked up the car paid the fines and the ticket...now I get a notice in the mail saying that I never paid my ticket...so I call 311 and talk to the RUDEST person ever who is telling me that I got two tickets that day...one in the morning and one later in the day and I said to them how is that possible if my car wasn't even there because it was towed at 6:00 AM and of course they didn't believe me and are mailing me a copy of this so called 2nd ticket...now I am gonna have to fight it and take off a day from work to spend all day in traffic court. And i still might have to pay it....I am so annoyed right now...I hate this city and their terrible parking tickets...it's a big giant scam...i should call help me howard or the problem solvers

I thought you said you parked at a bus stop?
But anyways... the second ticket situation is real simple... look at the time of your tow receipt. Then look at the time of the second ticket. If the time of the ticket is after the tow... you won't have to pay it.

You realize you can get in major trouble for this if a Sheriff finds your car doing a patrol or if you get pulled over by a cop.

I parked illegally once in the village and saw the car infront of me already had a ticket. I grabbed his ticket and stuck it on my windshield...went out and came back...put the ticket back on his car and drove away. LOL
I was young, I wouldnt do that now.

Yes but if you get pulled over... they can still track the tickets to your drivers licence number or to the person that registered the vechicle. Plus... if you let it wait long enough they can destroy your credit.

Your license may even be suspended for failure to pay fines.

Plus, its only in the City of NY. if i am on LI it is fine....

Yes i parked at a bus stop, paid the fine and my ticket...now a month later they are claiming that i got two tickets...and one of the ttickets is when my car was already towed. that is what is so frustrating.

yeah i know, but it is alittle different. its not CITY of NY, so i can still register a car on LI, or Westchester or somewhere..but not in the 5 boruoghs

Not trying to be nosey but how long ago did you renew it? If an insurance co. runs your lic. it can show unpaid fine fees. Sometimes with DMV it can take a while for it to show up in the system. But I hope you have nothing on there.

OK, I'd be careful if I were you. Trust me, if they want to get you, they will. And like Pill says, your credit will suffer.

yeah, im just not dealing with it for now.
i owe $700+
i renewd my liscense (not insurance obviously tho) in March..... b/c it had still said "under 21" and i had long black hair in the picture,
