Nooooooooo!!!!!!!!!! I just ordered $100 worth of stuff last night!Chat Icon

About how big are the plants? I mean I knew they wouldn't be full grown, but are they like just popping out of the earth?

Re: Spring Hill Nursery Catalog..... ughhhhhh

They send young plants, sometimes just roots, and they send them at the appropriate time to plant. I ordered from www.parkseed.com and www.dutchgardens.com and the things I planted less than 2 weeks ago have already doubled in size.

If you want plants that are more established I'd recommend going to your local nursery and getting flats or potted plants. Some will cost more and some will cost less.

Happy planting!!

I ordered a few things from them- no complaints. I've actually been satisfied with plants I've bought off ebay!Chat Icon

what did you order?
Most things are not supposed to be full grown this early in the season.

I just placed an order, I really got alot with the special promo and 1 cent sale they were having. Basically, $96 worth for $56~! Now I mention this because I have spent WAY more at Home Depot and various other nurseries for more mature plantings and the darn things would never grow or come back!

I found this on SpringHills help section -
and it is so true...

Be patient! Just as “might oaks from tiny acorns grow,” it takes time for perennials to develop strong root systems and start producing sizable top growth. Most of the products pictured in Spring Hill’s catalogs and on the website show how perennials will look after they’ve had three years to mature in a garden. Much of the joy in creating a beautiful perennial garden is watching your plants grow. And the years of charm and beauty they will bring to your garden for so many years to come is well worth the wait!

I bought little seedlings of Rudebekia last year at a village plant sale, growth was limited and it did not flower.... but this year it is already looking so much bigger and better, it needs to get established and sometimes that may take more than one season.

I love the gardening motto -"Plant it and Pray"
its so true!!! Chat Icon

Good luck!

I ordered from them last year - I had a big post about them on LIW

I was so sad when the plants cameChat Icon

I was able to keep them I only had to throw one away (it was DOA).

the sticks I planted last year are OK but still so small.
