Borders-What Are The Borders In Your Life Or You Have None?
I don't mean "crossing the border" I mean physical borders, spiritual, intellectual, political.
n 1: a line that indicates a boundary [syn: boundary line, borderline, delimitation, mete] 2: the boundary line or the area immediately inside the boundary [syn: margin, perimeter] 3: the boundary of a surface [syn: edge] 4: a decorative recessed or relieved surface on an edge [syn: molding, moulding] 5: a strip forming the outer edge of something; "the rug had a wide blue border"
Are there any boundaries that you put up in your life.
For example: This has lately become an issue in my life. I have chosen to put up borders in the relationship my MIL and I have. She is a difficult woman to deal with & the only way I think is best to deal w/ her is to put up borders & set limits.SO she can stop interfering in our lives.

I had to think about this one, the only real thing that comes to my mind is that I have certain boundries on how I will accept to be treated as an individual.

That's a good expample. I was reading a great article about this.
They talked about borders w/ food. WHat do you choose to eat, to not eat, to drink.

I definitely have borders with people. I only allow certain select people to know intimate details of my life. I am pretty private and I choose not to divulge a lot of personal info to people I don't know very well.

I have set up borders with the immediate family on what I share and what they get to say in it. So many opinions flying at me and I was never able to say "I don't want your opinion." ... now I either tell them I don't want to talk about something or I tell them what I've decided and let them know I am not interested in what they think I should do.
It's hard to do because I know it's never done with menace but my life is my decision and if I don;t ask for your opinion don't give it! haha.

I have borders as far as how people treat me and speak to me.
I certainly have them with my extended family, DHs family, acquaintances and coworkers - they don't know me the way that DH and my immediate family does; I don't like too much getting out about me.

I have borders in how people speak to me and treat me. I will not be cursed at, spoken to in an abusive manner, etc, ever by anyone!

I have borders on my personal space
I have borders with my food and drink
I have borders on how much I will emotionally share.
I have borders with what I will do/will not do in the name of family and or friends
