Dave Ramsey??
Is anyone familiar with him? He says you should save $1,000 emergency money first before you pay off your debts. How can you do that if you have cc bills to pay each month?

I've never heard the $1000 before, but I have heard that you should have at LEAST one month's worth of bills saved in case of emergency and then pay off the credit cards.
We have $200 automatically deposited from each paycheck into savings until we reach that goal (way more than $1000) and every other cent we have left over goes to credit cards.

Yes, if you go on his website, he tells you the first step is to save $1,000 for emergencies. We HAD that emergency and now we are back to square one but with cc bills to pay-ahhhh!!
