From "maybe next year" to TTC overnight?
Did anyone else go from "yeah maybe kids next year" to "let's get preg now!" in a minute? I swear in Nov I was still saying "oh a year from now" and now I am saying "let's do this!" I feel like a switch went off (more like tick, tick!) and everything changed. Did this happen to anyone else?

This kind of happened to me too. I was always saying "we'll start trying a year after getting married". Well now we've been married 6 months and I'm ready...and have been for a couple of months. DH still wants to wait a little though..

It happened to me. DH would have liked to try for a honeymoon baby. I wanted to wait a few years. We compromised and decided to wait two years, and DH reluctantly agreed to wait... he wanted to TTC so badly.
Well, about a year and a half into marriage I literally just woke up one day with this maniacal desire to have a child. I was like "we need to start trying NOW". I became more crazed than DH even! Good thing we started a little earlier than planned though, because it took 14 months to conceive our son!

we were going to wait until the end of the summer...but Dh surprised me and said that he saw no actual reason to wait...especially since it can some time to actually get PG

this is exactly what happened to us. We were even throwing around "let's wait 3 years" a month and a half ago.
Then DH was told he may or may not have some issues, that is when it hit us, that more than anything we really want a baby. So we went for it.
and so glad we did

Yes that happened to me, we had always said we wait a few years after we got married. Now a year later and i want one so bad, but not my DH but we agreed september we would start to TTC and i can't wait .

It happened to me too. Just not to dh. We waited a while to start until he felt more comfortable about it. We are starting next month!

DH and I got married this past June and we were thinking about or actually wanted to wait a year. Than after hearing stories on this site as well as several women in my own family who were not able to get pregnant right away, we decided to stop birth control and see what happens. If it happened right away (which it did...)we were lucky. If it didn't, at least we would be able to look into it and decided what we wanted to do from there.

Yes, that happend to us. At first we said a year after we were married, then in Feb. (three months after married) we decided to start trying in JUNE. Got my BFP in March  .
My opinion is that once you put it out there...it's hard to wait. At least, that's what happened to us.

It happened to me. I wanted to wait until next year because I am not tenured, but last month, the "clock" went off and now I can wait at all- I want to be pregnant right now!! We are going ttc from now until September, and then we'll see what happens.

OMG- well, I just recently went through this on a similar level-- I thought ok, we'll try like 4 to 5 years after being married. I always knew I wanted kids, but never ever felt like I *wanted* them.
Anyway recently, I feel like I *want* them. It's really weird. I am happy because I really felt like I would never *want* them and get to that point where I felt like I wanted TTC-- but now I feel differently, and it is totally like a switch- which is what I have heard from other people.
My head still tells me to wait another 2 years-- I started a new job like 2 months ago and I need to be there at least a year before getting preggo and also, DH and I need to get ready... But, in 2 years I'll be 33, who who the hell knows- what I feel might get stronger, but it's still another year if I am being realistic.

this happened to us, but it really was "next year" and then the next day it was "let's do it now" and so we did or at least, we're trying ;)
