WHY does Verizon not give phones away for free?
We've had Verizon for almost 2 years now....just renewed our contract for ANOTHER 2 years. We're eligible for $100 credit on ONE phone...but they are all OVER $100, even the crappy ones!!

2 years plans = bad... and verizon doesn't take care of there people.... T-mobile by far has the best programs when it comes to upgrades to the phone... my dad got a Razor for free when his phone broke and was going to leave.

yes we realize that EVERY OTHER phone company GIVES phones away....but the service is great. It just stinks that we have to pay $$ for a stinking phone that we only want to communicate with...don't need camera, don't need all that jazz that they have now

Agreed with T-Mobile.
Sprint also has very good retention plans available. The key with Sprint is to call them when you are at the end of your contract and HAVEN'T renewed yet. Tell them you are ready to leave them to get a free phone elsewhere and ask them to give you a hefty phone credit. I have gotten as much as $200 buks from them at one point.

this is what i've done too. I've had sprint for about 7 years now!

i have cingular (LOVE it) and they also require you to sign up for another 2 years deending on the phone you want.

I agree that Verizon has the BEST service in this area. I would rather pay 100 bucks for a phone than have it drop every other call-like when I had NEXTEL Maybe they are better now that they joined up with Sprint but I hated them and they still made me pay teh contract cancellation even though I had made numerous calls to them about poor svc. I hate them. My company pays for my Verizon but even if they didn't I would probably stick with them. I have had almost every plan out there and they have the best coverage even on the north shore

Sometimes Verizon has deals.
Not a free phone, but my first was only like $20 & this was was buy 1 , get 1 free & there was rebate, so I think we paid $50, for 2 phones, but it wasn't the latest model or anything, but it is fine for me.

Another Verizon fan here. The service of Verizon is so much better than everyone else, especially in LI.
Sprint DOES NOT take care of its customers. I needed a new phone when mine fell apart, and I didn't have a contract. Still I couldn't get any deals unless I was a "new" customer. They only care about getting customers- not keeping them.

My DH and I just switched from Sprint to Verizon this week. They offered us one phone that DH wanted and another one for free. This is with a new 2-year contract. I of course had to have the pink Razr phone, so there was no free phone deal for us, but it was offered.
They're offering the Sanyo a950 for $99 plus one free to new customers. You should fight for the same deal as an exisiting customer.

HMM...We have verizon, we got one free phone and one phone for $25 and we can trade up in 2 years to a choice of 5 free phones.
Call Verizon directly...
My SIL also just had her 2 yr up with them and got a free new phone which was $179 in the stores.
somethings not right there...
