I don't want my little man to miss his first pre-k! know anything about styes?

Jordans eye was a little red for a few days and then on Sat. it really started to puff up and by Sunday he had a really bad stye on his bottom eyelid, which he said wasn't bothering him. So I took him to the Dr. on Monday and it looks pretty gross today. The Dr. said it would just run it's course and she gave me some antibiotic ointment if it pops What I'm worried about is that he is supposed to have his first day of Pre-K tomorrow. I really don't want him to miss his first day! How long does it take for it to go away!

They aren't contagious. Its just like a pimple in the eye. Have you tried warm compresses on his eye? Sometimes that helps.

Did the doctor say he had to stay home?

I've had him laying down with warm washcloths on it alot..
She didn't say he had to stay home, but she said if it pops and looks bad, the nurse prob. won't let him...
I'm also a little worried about him walking into class with a crazy looking eye, prob. not the best way to make friends
