Need Eastern LI advice for today (update at bottom)
I would like to go out east today to the farmstands. Not really interested in going to the wineries though because we are planning on going with friends one day.
Can you recommend farmstands or places with stores we can go to? What's the best road to take?

well most of the farm stands are on 25
same road as the wineries..
they are all over the area mixed in

Harbes is nice. If you stay on Sound Ave (25) you will see a lot of stands.

Once you have hit all the farmstands you can take...keep following the road & you'll end up in Greenport...should still be some places open there! And plenty to eat!

I definitely do NOT miss living on Sound Ave this time of year!

today is also the fair in Riverhead on Main Street so the traffic on 58 through Riverhead (the one that goes past the hospital) should be extra busy today

Had a great time out east today! My favorite farmstand was Bayview where I bought two large pots of mums, white sweet potatoes, fresh corn, and fresh fudge.
Herbes was packed and didn't have too much besides pumpkins.
We drove 25 out and then turned back around onto Sound Ave.
Then we went to Tangers for the afternoon where I bought two pairs of pants from Ann Taylor and this great green velvet blazer from Bass.
It was great! Thanks for the suggestions all!
