St. Patty's Day parade-Where to stand?

So since Boston and NYC's parades are on different days this year, looks like I am going to be able to go to both.Chat Icon Here is the thing....Since it is on a Friday, I wanted to party later on in the evening...not start too early since there is no work the next day. So I am going with my sisters and some people from my neighborhood. I volunteered my babysitting services to my aunt to take my 3 little cousins. I am guessing the 50's are going to be packed...what are the 60's/70's like? TIA

I haven't gone in years, but I agree that in NYC, the higher you go, the fewer the crowds.

Good luck...I don't even go to the one in Huntington and I can walk there....I hate crowds. Have a great time and don't wear orange.

Sunday the 19th. Definitely try and go. It is a much wilder scene and so fun. People with kegs on wagons through the streets, and lines outside of bars before noon. People are on roofs dancing. It is a really great time, but sooooo cold.
