Changing Table - bookcase
Does anyone know of a changing table that can then be used as a book case? I don't want to buy a dresser/changing table, because we already have a dresser we want to use. Or any other ideas of practical things to use as a changing table?
Any help would be appreciated.

can you use your existing dresser as the changing table? we bought 2 dressers, one of which we plan to use as a changing table...

I'd like to do this with a dresser. Do you have to add anything to the top of the dresser to secure the baby besides the contoured pad?

i know i have to secure the pad somehow to the dresser (to the back perhaps?) but don't want to ruin the furniture in the process

Re: Changing Table - bookcase
If your dresser does not have a lip on the front of it, it's not recommended to use it for a changing table. Too easy for the baby to fall off.
We used this Rail Rider which is molded plastic, but there are nicer wood ones out there. There was a post earlier this week about changing tables where someone posted one.
ETA: Here's the thread with the wooden one that goes on the crib to change them: Thread link
And here's a link to one that maybe can be used like a bookcase, at least the top part: Thread #2 link
