Work from home! Choose your own hours! Blah blah blah...
Anybody ever do this? I was looking at an advertisement for medical billing. They train you online (Takes about 4 months) and then you can work from home at your convenience. I don't know many more details (I'm sure you have to pay for the training), but if anybody has every done anything like this, is it worth it? Is the training difficult? Or is this whole thing pretty much a scam? If anybody could give me any info, I'd really appreciate it.

I worked in as a medical biller, in the finance unit of a physical therapy office--I had no formal training, but there were two girls there that had gone for it...it's like an 8 or 12 week course that you pay for, where they teach you how all the forms, and codes, etc...and then you get certified....I would look into that if you're interested in going into medical billing...the offer that you mentioned, working from home--and online classes--it seems too good to be true...but it can't hurt to check it out.

You should NEVER have to pay for someone to "hire" you, even if you work from home.
I work from home and I am on a 1099. Meaning I essentially own my own business and make my own hours. The company pays me as a contractor. I do not get benefits, but that works for DH & I.
I would NEVER pay a company to have the "privilege" of working from home. Go onto the career board there was a thread about this not too long ago. I hope this helps.

i looked into one of those medical billing things .. it wanted $1200 for 'training' at home. for that kind of money, ya might as well go to suffolk community and get one on one experience.
