Natural Gas vs Oil Heat
What are the pros and cons?
Is one cheaper than the other?
We have gas for our hot water heater and stove and oil for our heat. Keyspan sent us something in the mail saying that we only have to pay about $300 for a burner to convert entirely to gas. Our current oil burner is old and would probably have to be replaced in a few years. Should we stick with the oil or go to the natural gas?

we have gas heat and hot water heater. we converted 3 years ago. Our oil burner was on its last legs, kept producing puff backs making everything dirty. Gas heat is so much cleaner in my opinion
Key Span gave us the burner and we had to pay for the labor and a new hot water heater

Key Span gave us the burner and we had to pay for the labor and a new hot water heater While we live in an apt vs. owning a home, I have to say, I absolutely prefer gas heat! I lived at home with oil heat and my folks always had problems!
6 yrs at my apt and never had a single problem, and IMO, it definitely burns cleaner! Also, with gas heat & HW, if there is a power outage, there is still hot water.
ETA: no deliveries with natural gas. no negotiating price per gallon every year - that's another bonus.
