Please go for a complete physical w/blood test before ttc. It is very vital to do that

I just found out a few months ago that I have PCOS and suffer from hypothyroidism. Both can be factors to having difficulty ttc.

I had blood work done for genetic testing purposes before we were married to determine whether or not I was a carrier for culturally specific diseases and/or disorders. I felt it was necessary. It gave me peace of mind. I have bloodwork done for other medical reasons every 6 months. Basically I dont think it is a requirement, but if you are asking and you are concerned, there is no reason not to if it will give you the peace of mind you seek.

I go for a check up every year and have blood work done to check for diabetes, etc. If it will give you peace of mind, than you should. If you are healthy and go for yearly check-ups and have no current health issues, I dont think it is necessary.

My OB/GYN told me when DH and I are ready to start TTC I need to come in for bloodwork

Need? Probably not.
Should you? Yes. At our TTC appt our Dr gave us a referral to get some bloodwork done.
Its better to know what your dealing with and take precaution than have a problematic PG and discovering it then.

You can, but don't worry if you don't get it done before your BFP. They will do all the blood work on you at your first pre-natal appointment.

where did you go to do this? Was it through your ob/gyn or regular md? Also did you have your dh do it too?

My ob/gyn did it for me. She tested me and because I was not a carrier there was no need to test DH.

My dermatologist also suggested bloodwork.....I was taking meds for cystic acne...
