Horrible and EXPENSIVE dinner last night!!!
We are in Ny for the weekend. Since I won last weekend at the video slots, we decided to take my parents out to dinner...
We went to the Tuscan House in Southampton. The prices were high and teh food was not good. I did not even eat..I ordered a boneless pork loin with shaved proscuitto, spinach and fresh mozzarella. It came out and it was very tough and very fatty, and very dry. So I told the waiter, what I thought and I could not eat it. (Everything in this place was at least 24.00, but we were splurging) he came back and told me the chef said it was sposed to be that way, thats the nature of the dish. Basically telling me the chef was right....so I went withouth eating....my parents and DH's were not that great either...but they at lease could eat it...
Has anyone else been to this restaurant? From my experience, I do not recommend it!!

oh, i would be totally pi$$ed too!!! you should have demanded they give you another pork loin. 
reminds me of when dh and i went to H2O in smithtown! TOTALLY OVERPRICED and the food was just Ok....

I feel your pain. FH and I splurged on a nice dinner when we were in Paris last year- supposedly in a really nice place and the food SUCKED.

that $ucks!!!!!!! i wouldve made their life miserable if they didnt replace it with something else (i can get a tad cranky when im really hungry   )

I did have him take it back! It was DISGUSTING!!
And, My dad ordered something and said he did not want tomatoes, and the waiter came back and said the chef said its the tomatoes taht give the flavor and he would not do it without them...

Wow, they aren't going to stay in business very long with that attitude. What if your dad had diverticulitis and can't digest seeds? What a jerk!

Is that the restaurant on the corner (used to be Basicalla or Basicallo) across from Agawan Park?
I hardly ever eat it in Southampton because most of the places are so overpriced. But I have to say, La Chef, The Drivers Seat and Barristers are good. But they have been around for a long time too.

yes---used to be Basilico!
I agree with you about the places you named! My aunt and cousin went to this restaurant and RAVED about it...so we tried it....BLECH!!!!!!
