what should i do with my white skirt

I have a white skirt that i love, it is cotton....i just noticed that somehow a streak of something tan/brown is stained on it (i think its coffee) and i washed it twice and soaked it in the sink and it wont come out, im so sad cause I love this skirt so i dont wanna throw it out... so what should i do...if i soak it in bleach u think it will fade the stain? or should i buy some kind of dye and dye the skirt another color?... what would u do?

I just don't have the patience for this stuff so I would go out and get a new white skirt lol

try and bleach it. That should get the stain out. Is this a skirt from last year? If so, I find that sometimes white cotton gets funky after being stored away for the season!

Bring it to a dry cleaners. I wouldn't soak it in bleach - it may ruin the "color" of the skirt (there are different shades of white depending on the fabric/manufacturer)

Try the dry cleaner, they are usually good with my stains!

Soaking it in straight bleach may also start to disintergrate the fabric.

Sometimes, I wet the area where the stain is, and use a stain stick on the spot and leave it in for a few days and then wash it. Sometimes that will get it out.

lol but its sooooo absolutly adorable, and fits perfectly..i cant bare to replace it, especially when im sooooo picky and nothing fits the way i love it but this does..so im going to great lenghts to preserve it lol

can you try and see if you can find it online? or was it one of those buys at some random store?

Thanks girls.. i think i will try the dry cleaner first and if that doesnt work, i will maybe dye it black or something..i suppose a black skirt is better then no skirt at all. its just too cute to part with

You've tried a detergeant with an enzyme? If it's coffee, that's what will break up the stain.

I would try some Oky Clean on it, I usually do that with stains my DH gets on his clothes from work and that usually takes it out.

Also - I know you said you tried washing it - did you dry it in the dryer?
Sometimes that sets a stain in.
I actually wanted to tell you that one of my friends SWEARS by baby wipes - they supposedly take everything out.

i got it on clearance at ann taylor last yr, randomly when i went in for something else and i ended up buying this skirt instead lol.. hmm..i can check the store but i doubt they would haveit cause i assume its last yrs collection

Maybe try the Tide to Go pen. It's supposed to be good only on fresh stains, but DH took out a cream colored sweater he hadn't worn in I'm sure way over a year, and we found it had some weird stain on it. We tried the pen, and though it took a little while, it disappeared. I used it on something else too that was an old stain and it worked. It's worth a try. Good luck!

I found this tip online:

Milk is also supposed to be great for removing coffee from clothing. Soak the stain overnight in a bowl of milk. In the morning, the stain should be just about removed and the piece of clothing should be ready for the washing machine.

This may sound weird but Lestoil gets out a lot of stains. Rub it on the stain, let it sit overnight, then wash in the warmest water the garment can take.

How about Rit or another dye remover? Sometimes that works...or try oxy clean, shout, etc..I'd just keep trying..if that doens't woerk, dye it a dark color

I suggest Oxy Clean as well. I have soaked so many white items in it and it has gotten the stains out! At times, I have soaked things for 3 days and then gently scrubbed the item until the stain comes out.

As a last resort try soaking it in coca cola for 30 minutes and then wash.

Cola can get out so many stains.

But of course be careful, with white you never know what it will hold.
