Car Insurance companies...

I called mine earlier because I got a letter in the mail that I can contact them and they will re-evaluate our policies to see if we get any new safe driver discounts. Well, I've been with the company for 6 years, and up until today they didn't have my NC driver's license # which I've had since 2003, and they don't have my DH's DL # at all??? Which is weird because I've called them numerous times for address changes, and they've never brought that to my attention. Anyway, they couldn't do the re-evaluation because they didn't have my DH's info since it's one policy they have to do it at the same time. I don't have his info so I said I'd call back, and they would do it at that time. I'm glad I didn't have the info because I didn't know they pull your credit reports too??? They've never done that before? My DH and I are working on our credit so I don't want it pulled right now anyway. If they pulled it our rates would probably jump! I'm glad they couldn't do it! I don't understand what your credit report has to do with car insurance. Talk about trying to make a buck!

I've heard of that too, pulling credit reports. When I asked my last insurance company why she told me its because if you have bad credit then they think your a risk. Makes no sence to me and I dont know if its really true either. My friend works for Allstate, Im gonna email her and see if she knows why.
