Don't Kill Me-- another kitchen post w/ POLL
Um, can you tell I cannot make a decision. I need all the ammunition I can get to either convince DH to do things my way, or just do enough research in order to feel confident in my choice.
We are going to get Stainless Steel appliances and looking to spend like $3K. We are coming in a little over if we buy all one brand-- which we were planning on doing (GE Profile).
I thought though, that when it comes to stainless, you want to get all 1 brand to ensure that everything matches. In my other post- a couple girls said as long as it's the same finish- it should be ok.
Let me know what you think.. TIA!

My stove and microhood are GE Profile, my dishwasher is Maytag (didn't like the GE ones), and my fridge is LG. Everything matches.

If I was in your situation I would probably replace it all with the same brand. I am pretty anal about those things and I just know thats how I would be.

Since you are buying all new appliances I would stick with the same brand.

Yes, I am anal too. I mean, it's not like I have an expansive kitchen and I am doing different brands of like Viking and Sub Zero.

Then if that's the case, then stick to one brand. It'll probably end up costing you less because when you purchase more than of the same brand for your different appliances, they give you rebates. Good luck! either way, it'll look terrific!

I did mostly the same brand because most of the top Consumer Report pics were similar brands. GE Profile for the range and micro, Kenmore for the dishwasher and fridge and whirlpool for the washer and dryer (they are in my kitchen).

I think i may do different. I say that because GE may have the best fridge but kenmore may have the best dishwasher and so on.
If they were all top rated then I would stick to all one but I have a feeling I would like the stove of one company and the fridge of another. The stailness steel finish should be the same from company to company.

I would go with whatever brand/style you like best and make sure the finishes are the same. Ive never even bothered to notice if appliances are all from the same co. in people's homes.
But if it is something that bothers you then go for the same brand.

Is there a significant price difference if you get different brands? If the finishes are the same I would base my decision on that and what has the best ratings.
But if different brands will really bother you, then get the same brand.
