for tops and stuff I don't but for undies, bathing suits etc. I do.
Dh will NOT wear anything new until its washed. He can't stand the smell of items from the stores

Not for me so much, DH makes me!
Certain clothes tend to fit him better after a wash and cause he's anal, I gots to wash 'em.

Yes! Unless, I really have nothing to wear.
If it is dry clean only, DH will dry cleanit first before wearing, I only do if it looks like it has been tried on a lot.
Underwear I always wash, if I am in desperate need ( like luggage got lost on vacation or something, I'd buy the kind in a package, if I couldn't wash it first.
ETA-- I surprised how any peeople don't wash tops & things first.
And yes, they do smell funny when they are new.

I have to. I'm weird when it comes to germs - the thought of someone's skin touching an item of clothing, and then me putting it on and it resting on my skin creeps me out.
i also don't touch handrails. but its a weird thing i have.
