Did anyone re-negotiate after the engineer???

Did you do this through the realtor or does your lawyer? Also, did the home owners come down in there price? What things did you re-negotiate over?

We tried, but they wouldn't budge.
We did it through the realtor b/c at that point we weren't in contract yet.
We were negotiating over some electrical work.

Re: Did anyone re-negotiate after the engineer???

We tried to get the sellers to come down because the engineer was concerned about the electric- the house was wired for 100 amp and he recommended 200. There was also something sticking out of the box (some wiring) that the engineer said was unsafe. He'd told us that it would be about $2k to upgrade and DH tried to get the sellers to come down by that much but they refused. We took the house anyway. If it had been up to me, I would not have bothered to go back to the sellers (because they took our offer, which was $15k below asking) but DH went alone for the inspection. I believe he went through the realtor about the inspection issues.

we submitted a list of issues we wanted fixed... the seller agreed to take care of some, but not others... that was a fine enough compromise for us!

We had a list of (relatively minor) things that we asked the seller's to fix. They fixed every single one of them. Had they not, we would have tried to negotiate with them to lower the price.
