Punta Cana, Dominican Republic?
Has anyone been or heard anything about it?
We are thinking of planning a trip for new years eve.

ETA..we are looking at Secrets all inclusive.

we went to Punta Cana 3 years ago... we stayed at the Iberostar Dominicana... it is a great place to go to rest and relax, the beach is beautiful, the weather is great... we had an awesome time...

We loved Secrets Punta Cana...went last year...it was great.

I just posted the same question not too long ago...do a search, I got alot of good information here.
ETA: I'm pretty sure that we're staying at Melia Caribe...I heard they had the nicest grounds in Punta Cana, and I had a friend who stayed there and he said that it was by far, their best vacation ever. For some reason they don't have rates for 2007 yet. Thats the only reason we havn't booked yet.

i've never been to punta cana but oenofmy friends have and they said it was absolutely georgeous!! they loved it!!

Danielle and I went last year for our 1 year anniversary. We stayed at Sunscape the beach. We should of stayed at Secrets but couldnt afford to at the time.
Sunscape was very clean and a very nice, large resort. They had plenty to do during the day for people of all ages.
The resort wasnt adults only, which is the first problem. There were kids everywhere. I dont want to see kids when im on vacation, and Danielle is a teacher so I doubt she wanted to see them either.
The entertainment by the pool was excellent - but when they had contests, for prizes they gave away rum - which was wierd when a Child one......Of course they didnt give it to them.
The pool was nice - It was a lazy river.....There was two Pools I think.
There was a spa but we didnt use it...Maybe next time we go away.
There were stores down the beach that we went to to buy all of our gifts for our family and also to get Danielle's hair braided.
The food was maybe a 5 out of 10. One restaurant was really good and it was also adults only. It was called Dreams. The other restaurants were ok. We didnt get a chance to go to the japanese restaurant or the mexican restaurant because they were too crowded and the wait was ridiculous.
At night after dinner they had shows and games after.....
They also had a casino.
The bars were really good and they were all over....The drinks were strong.....
If you are going away with a family - then I recommend staying here.

We are going to sun village resort and spa in july. We got a great deal with airfare from skyauction.com.
